Discover our last Air-Sea Industrial Project from Asia to Latam via our bonded MIA Gateway in USA

01 August 2018 | World | General

In July, Bansard International successfully handled one over-length cargo shipment from China to the Dominican Republic. Our agent in Bogota/Colombia challenged us to come up with an Air-Sea transport solution from China via our bonded gateway in MIA to the Dominican Republic. Our network won the complex order through a successful close cooperation of several global offices. The large equipment manufacturer entrusted Bansard International to handle the transportation and logistics of 6 over-length titanium tubes from China to the Dominican Republic within limited times.

Thanks to Bansard International’s network in Latin America and the smooth cooperation between Bansard China and Bansard-Anker USA teams, optimal multimodal shipping plans involving Air freight, Sea freight and Road operations were perfectly achieved for this urgent and challenging request.

Three crucial steps have been set up, divided between these 3 actors and perfectly realized in order to make this delivery arrived safe and on-time:

  • Cargo Nose Loading in China

From the factory, based in Wuhan, Bansard China team escorts the freight to Shanghai-PVG by truck with specific devices involving crates and special latching services, as well as for the air export to the USA-MIA via ORD. As the cargo measured more than 11 meters and 7.900 kg, shoring beams and 4 over-length ULD have been assembled to protect the cargo during its air transit, moreover a nose loading operation was also necessary to load the cargo in the plane.

  • Cargo Transshipment in our Bonded MIA Gateway in USA

From Chicago to Miami (MIA), Bansard-Anker Miami team took over the in-bond transfer to our Bansard Miami bonded gateway/warehouse. The cargo with its crates was picked up by Flatbed truck from the airline for transfer to our warehouse in MIA. Simultaneously, Bansard-Anker MIA secured a crane to transload the 6 over-length crates from the Flatbed truck into a 40’ Open-Top container. IE Customs form (Immediate Export) was issued by Bansard-Anker Customs Brokerage department to execute bonded move of the 40’OT from the bonded warehouse to Port Everglades for export to Caucedo/Dominican Republic. All this was accomplished within a few hours to meet the high and demanding timing expectations of the customer.

  • Cargo Reception in the Dominican Republic

Bansard-Anker MIA through its NVOCC division Anker International (SCAC: AKIL) booked the 40’OT container under its own service contract with MSC for smooth operations. MB/L and HB/L were issued and sent to the consignee in the Dominican Republic. The vessel arrived in Caudedo on July 24, 2018, on time, and this complex move with many different parties involved was a great success of the global Bansard network.
